Monuments de Paris Bespoke
Created in 1812 by the Joseph Dufour manufactory, this design is one of the first large panoramic murals dedicated to the French capital. It brings together iconic monuments and scenes of everyday life along the Seine, offering an idealized vision of Paris during the First Empire. It is one of the earliest models from the Joseph Dufour manufactory, whose success has continued for over two centuries — a legacy deserving of a full restoration today.
From the collection of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs — Based on Monuments de Paris
In 1947, the Isidore Leroy company took over the archives of the Desfossés et Karth Manufactory, itself the publisher of the Joseph Dufour archives.
Today, Isidore Leroy aims to revive the Joseph Dufour and Desfossés brands and is beginning this new chapter with the reissue of iconic panoramic designs from these major names in the history of French wallpaper. For more than a year, we have been committed to innovation in the field of restoration, using new reconstruction techniques to offer reissues of these models with unprecedented quality.
